Baked Lemon Garlic Chicken Recipe | Lemon Garlic Cream Sauce Recipe

Baked lemon garlic chicken is a savory recipe that is perfect for a weekend dinner. The taste of garlic included in the cream sauce makes it yummier. The inclusion of baby potatoes is a healthy addition to this recipe.

Ingredients:

• 4 lbs chicken thighs (bone-in)
• 2 medium onions (sliced)
• 1 large lemon (thinly sliced)
• 8 oz chicken broth
• 1 1/2 lbs baby potatoes (washed and unpeeled)
• Oil (for browning the chicken)

For the chicken seasoning rub:

• 1/2 tsp paprika
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp lemon pepper
• 1 tsp onion powder
• 1 tsp salt

For the cream sauce:

• 6 garlic cloves (minced)
• 8 oz chicken broth
• 16 oz heavy cream
• 1 tbsp butter
• 1/2 tsp dried parsley
• 1/4 tsp dried dill
• 1/4 cup lemon juice
• Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:




For the chicken seasoning rub:

In a small mixing bowl, add 1/2 tsp paprika, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp lemon pepper, 1 tsp onion powder, and 1 tsp salt.
Mix until well combined.
Rub it on the chicken thighs for seasoning.
Refrigerate and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Set a large pan over medium-high heat.
Drizzle some oil for browning the chicken.
Brown each chicken thigh for 5 minutes on each side.
Remove the chicken thighs from the pan and transfer to a plate.
Set aside.
Do not throw the excess oil in the pan.

Put the baby potatoes in a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Drizzle with the excess oil from frying the chicken earlier.
Sprinkle with chicken seasoning rub.
Stir to coat the potatoes with the seasoning and oil for extra flavor.
Add the cooked chicken thighs, sliced lemon, and onions.
Bake for 45 minutes in a preheated oven at 400 F.
Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool for 15 minutes.

For the cream sauce:

In the same pan, melt 1 tbsp butter.
Saute minced garlic.
Add dried parsley and dried dill.
Saute and stir until fragrant.
Add chicken broth and stir.
Add lemon juice.
Let it simmer until reduce the liquid into half.
Add heavy cream and season with salt and pepper.
Stir it.
Remove from the heat.

Presentation:

Place spinach leaves (optional) on a plate.
Get baked chicken thighs and baby potatoes for serving.
Drizzle with the cream sauce on top.
Serve and enjoy!

Tips and ideas:

You can assemble the baked lemon garlic chicken according to your preference.

You can also use chicken breasts as an alternative for chicken thighs.
