Easy Cod Fish In Soy Sauce And Ginger Marinade Asian Recipe

Fish cooked with ginger is common in Asian dishes. Ginger not only provides a better taste to the fish but it also naturally and effectively removes the unpleasant fishy smell. This recipe is a very simple 1-pot Asian fish dish. All the ingredients are simmered in just a single pot until cooked. The fish is made flavorful with the soy-ginger based sauce. This is a healthy main dish which can be served for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients:

• 1 lb Cod fish fillet, cut into chunks

Sauce:

• 1 thumb ginger, cut into thin strips
• 3 scallions, chopped
• 4 cloves garlic, minced
• 1/2 tbsp red pepper flakes
• 5 tbsp soy sauce
• 6 tbsp water
• 1 tbsp sesame oil

Instructions:

To prepare the sauce, mix all the ingredients ginger, scallions, garlic, red pepper flakes, soy sauce, water, and sesame oil in a bowl.
Place fish chunks in a pot.
Pour all the sauce on top of the fish.
Cover the pot with a lid and let it boil over high heat.
Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 12 minutes.
Turn off heat.
Transfer fish to a serving plate.
Serve with steamed or fried rice.

• You may also steam this dish. Place all the ingredients in a shallow bowl or glass baking dish and steam for 10 to 12 minutes.

• You may also use other white fish such as tilapia, bass, grouper, haddock, catfish or snapper.

• You may skip the chili flakes if you don’t want the dish spicy.
