How To Cook Steak and Spicy Beef Salad – Gordon Ramsay

Sirloin steak is one of the favorite weekend treats while at home. The dish is complete when served with vegetable salad and your favorite wine. This recipe takes about 30 minutes and serves 4.

Ingredients:

• 2 x 250 grams beef sirloin steak
• Olive oil (for frying)
• 200 grams cherry tomatoes (sliced in half)
• 6 radishes (trimmed and finely sliced)
• 3 spring onions (trimmed and shredded)
• 2 baby gem lettuce (shredded)
• 2 carrots (peeled and trimmed)
• Bunch of mint leaves (shredded)
• 1/2 large cucumber (peeled, deseeded, trimmed, and sliced)
• Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
• 4 tbsp skinned peanuts (optional for garnishing)

For the dressing:

• 1 red chili (deseeded and chopped)
• 1 garlic clove (peeled and roughly chopped)
• 2-3 tbsp fish sauce
• 2 teaspoon palm sugar
• Juice of 1-2 limes

Instructions:

For the steak:

Season the beef sirloin steak with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Set a frying pan over high heat.
Add olive oil and let it heat.
Fry the steaks for 2-3 minutes on each side.
Remove from heat and transfer to a plate.
Drizzle the remaining juices or oils on top of the steaks.
Set aside.

For the dressing:

Add chili and garlic in a mortar.
Season with a pinch of salt and grind.
Add fish sauce, lime juice, and sugar.
Stir the mixture using a spoon.
Set aside.

For the salad:

In a large bowl, mix all trimmed and chopped vegetables.
Add the dressing.
Mix well to combine.

Slice the steak in strips.
Place the strips on top of the vegetable salad.
Serve and enjoy!

Optional:

Roast peanuts and roughly chop.
Top it off the salad.
