Ingredients:

This recipe takes about 25 minutes to make. Serves 1 to 2.

• ½ cup of finely grated parmesan cheese

Instructions:

Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat.
Spread the grated parmesan cheese in the frying pan.
Make sure that the cheese is in a flat layer resembling a pancake-like batter.
Cook for about 2 to 3 minutes.
When the cheese starts to bubble, cook for another minute or until the edges start to brown.
Remove the pan immediately from the cooktop.
Transfer the pan to the kitchen counter and let the cheese crisp cool completely for about 15 to 20 minutes.
Using s spatula, gently release the cheese crisp from the pan by scraping the bottom while lifting the edges of the cheese crisp.
Place the cheese crisp on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
After 2 minutes, cut the cheese crisp into chips.

Ideas And Tips:

Aside from parmesan cheese, you can use mozzarella, cheddar, provolone, edam, asiago, havarti or gouda. You can even use a combination of the cheese.

If you want an added flavor to your cheese crisps, you can use spices like black pepper, paprika, cayenne pepper, Italian seasoning or garlic powder.

You can also add chopped nuts, seeds, fresh herbs, pimiento or bacon.

You can also bake the cheese chips in the oven. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Evenly spread the parmesan cheese on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes. Cool before cutting into chips.

You can also mold the cheese crisps into tubes, coned, baskets or shells. Make small batches of cheese crisps.
