Monte Cristo Sandwich Recipe

The famous Monte Cristo sandwich is one appetizing meal you can eat at any time of the day. It is traditionally made up of ham, grated cheese, and mayonnaise. It is then soaked in an egg mixture and fried or grilled. This recipe takes less than 15 minutes.

Ingredients:

• 3 slices white sandwich bread
• 2 pieces ham
• 2 eggs
• 3 tbsp gouda cheese (grated)
• 3 tsp mayonnaise
• 5 tsp milk
• 1 tbsp butter
• Salt to taste

Instructions:

Cut the edges of the sandwich bread.
Spread mayonnaise on one side of each of the bread slices.
Put the grated gouda cheese over the mayonnaise spread.
Add one piece of ham on top and assemble each slice on top of each.
Gently press down the sandwich.

In a small bowl or plate, mix eggs, milk, and salt to taste.
Soak the sandwich in the egg mixture.

Set a frying pan over medium heat.
Melt butter.
Put the sandwich and grill it for 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
Remove from heat.
Transfer to a cutting board and slice in half.
Serve and enjoy!

You can prepare with fresh fruit on the side and a fruit smoothie as a refreshment.

You can serve it with maple syrup, honey, or strawberry jam.
