Red Beans and Rice Recipe | Crockpot Recipes

Red beans and rice is a flavorful crockpot recipe filled with a mixture of red beans, Andouille sausage, bell pepper, white onion, celery and seasonings. You can add creole seasoning and more spices if you want more flavor to this recipe. It is a perfect dinner dish for friends and family over the weekend.

Ingredients:

• 1/2 lb cajun smoked Andouille sausage (chopped)
• 1 lb red kidney beans
• 4 cups chicken broth
• 2 cups water
• 2 cloves garlic (minced)
• 1 medium white onion (diced)
• 1 green bell pepper (diced)
• 3 celery stalks (chopped)
• 1/2 tsp kosher salt
• 1/4 tsp chili powder
• 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
• some chopped green onions (to garnish)

Instructions:

Prepare a crockpot.
Add red kidney beans, diced bell pepper, minced garlic, diced white onion, chopped sausages and chopped celery.
Pour chicken broth and water.
Season with Worcestershire sauce, kosher salt and chili powder.
Stir to combine.
Cover the pot and cook on high for six hours.
After six hours, transfer to a plate or bowl.
Serve with rice and sprinkle some chopped green onions for garnishing.

A Quick & Savory Bread Pudding Recipe For Your Holiday Breakfast

You could prepare this savory bread pudding for a lunch or holiday brunch. It is an easy and quick recipe that will take about an hour to prepare and cook. It is a mixture of Italian sausage, cream of mushroom soup, and sourdough bread. Make it cheesier by adding Gruyere cheese as topping.

Ingredients:

• 1 can cream of mushroom soup
• 4 eggs
• 2.5 cups milk

• some olive oil (for frying)
• 3 links Italian sausage
• 1 cup mushrooms (sliced)
• 1 cup leeks (sliced)
• 2 cloves garlic (minced)
• sprig of thyme
• 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
• 6 cups sourdough bread (cut into cubes)
• handful of Gruyere cheese (grated)

Instructions:

In a bowl, add cream of mushroom soup, eggs, and milk.
Whisk until smooth and well combined.
Set aside.

Preheat oven to 375 F.

Set a skillet over medium-high heat.
Drizzle some olive oil and let it heat.
Add Italian sausage and break into pieces using a wooden spoon.
Cook until the pieces change color.
Add sliced mushrooms and leeks.
Stir and cook until mushrooms are soft.
Add minced garlic, thyme, and chopped fresh parsley.
Stir and cook until vegetables and sausage are cooked.
Remove from the skillet and transfer to a large bowl.
Add cubed sourdough bread and grated Gruyere cheese.
Pour the cream of mushroom mixture.
Mix until well combined.
Transfer to a baking dish and spread to even out.
Garnish with the rest of the grated Gruyere cheese.
Place the baking dish inside the preheated oven.
Let it bake for 40 minutes.
Remove from the oven.
Serve and enjoy!

Sausage & Bean Casserole Recipe

Here’s an easy and flavorful sausage and bean casserole for the whole family for dinner. The mix of sausages and chorizos in a sauce of tomato and spices will get everybody full! Serve with your favorite side dish and a glass of wine.

Ingredients:

• 2 tbsp olive oil
• 20-30 chipolata sausages
• 1 large red onion (chopped)
• 2 red bell peppers (chopped)
• 20 bite-size chorizos (halved)
• 3 cloves of garlic (minced)
• 2 tsp paprika
• 1 tsp dried thyme
• 2 chicken stock cubes (crumbled)
• 3 x 14 oz chopped tomatoes
• 1 x 14 oz haricot beans (drained and rinsed)
• 1 x 14 oz cannellini beans (drained and rinsed)
• 120 ml red wine (optional)

Instructions:

This recipe takes about 50 minutes. The quantities listed make enough for ten people.

Set a frying pan over medium heat.
Add 2 tbsp olive oil and warm it up.
Add 20-30 chipolata sausages and cook for 6-8 minutes until browned.
Add chopped red onions and cook for 3 minutes until onions soften.
Add chopped red bell peppers, 20 halved bite-sized chorizos.
Stir and cook for 3 minutes.
Season with minced garlic, paprika, and dried thyme.
Stir and cook for a minute.
Pour 120 ml red wine.
Let it cook for 2-3 minutes or until sauce is reduced slightly.
Sprinkle crumbled chicken stock cubes into the mixture.
Add three cans of chopped tomatoes and mix.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 15 minutes.
Add cannellini and haricot beans.
Stir and cook for 5 minutes.
Remove from the heat and transfer to a plate.
Serve and enjoy!
