Veggie Rolls Recipe: Vegetable Filled Healthy Flavorful Snacks

Why stuff bread rolls with hotdogs or sausages when you can easily make a tasty veggie filling? This recipe will show you how you can make a healthy snack for your kids.



This veggie rolls recipe is inspired by the stuffed bread rolls sold in bakeries. Instead of deli meats, the filling is made is minced mixed veggies. It is then stuffed in soft buns, then topped off with ketchup, cheese, paprika, and butter. The rolls are baked in the oven just until the cheese melts. Your kids will surely love every bite of these healthy yet tasty veggie rolls. You can even let them help you prepare these veggie rolls. It will surely be a fun bonding activity with your children.

Ingredients:

• 1 carrot
• 5 French beans
• ¼ cup of frozen corn kernels
• ¼ cup of frozen sweet peas
• ¼ cup of frozen chickpeas
• 25 grams of paneer
• 2 green chilies
• 1-inch ginger
• 1 tbsp oil
• ½ tsp cumin seeds
• 1 ½ tsp salt
• 1 tsp ground black pepper
• 1 tsp red chili paste
• ½ tbsp Kitchen King masala
• ¼ tsp sugar
• 5 hotdog rolls
• tomato ketchup
• grated cheese
• ¼ tsp paprika
• 3 tbsp butter



Instructions:

This recipe takes about 25 to 30 minutes to make. Serves 5.

To prepare the filling, put carrot, French beans, green chilies, ginger, corn kernels, sweet peas. chickpeas, and paneer in a food processor.
Pulse until all ingredients are finely chopped.
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
Add cumin seeds and chopped vegetables.
Sauté for 3 to 4 minutes.
Season with salt, pepper, red chili paste, masala, and sugar.
Mix and cook for another 4 to 5 minutes.
Turn off heat.
Preheat the oven to 160°C.
Cut a slit on the top of each hotdog roll to make a pocket.
Stuff each pocket with enough veggie filling.
Top off each hotdog roll with ketchup, cheese, paprika, and dabs of butter.
Place on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 5 minutes.

Ideas And Tips:

• You can add other vegetables such as bell peppers, potatoes, zucchini or cauliflower.

• You can also add tomato sauce or tomato puree to the filling mixture.
