21 Foil-Wrapped Camping Recipes

If you are huddled in front of a roaring camp fire, then what could be better than preparing a delicious meal to enjoy under the starlit sky? 🙂

One of the main concerns in camping is food which is a big issue to those who do not want to cook a big meal which always means pots and pans and a lot of clean up.

However, there are various camping meals that you can cook in foil. These recipes ensure no mess and are really yummy because all of the flavors are prepared overnight before going to the camp site. HAM & CHEESE PULL-APART SANDWICH LOAF

1 loaf Italian bread

3 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened

1 Tablespoon spicy brown or country-style Dijon mustard

6 slices Swiss cheese

three-quarter lb thinly sliced fully cooked ham

Put your favorite kind of mustard, ham, and cheese between two slices of bread. Make six sandwiches into one loaf. Spray the tin foil with nonstick spray. Place the foil-wrapped loaf on the grill and cook for 20 to 25 minutes until cheese is melted and the loaf is hot.

PINEAPPLE, HAM & SWEET POTATO FOIL PACKET

4 oz. Ham, cut in cubes
2 Slices of Pineapple, canned, juice reserved
1/2 Large Sweet potato, diced into cubes
1/2 Red Bell Pepper, sliced
1 Tbsp Brown Sugar
2 Tbsp Reserved Pineapple Juice
1 Tbsp Butter
Red Pepper Flakes, to taste

Use a double layer of foil and apply non-stick cooking spray on it. Place the potato chunks on the foil, then layer the ham, red bell peppers, and pineapple on top of the sweet potatoes. Put butter on top of the ingredients, sprinkle brown sugar, and shower the whole thing with pineapple juice. Wrap and cook the pre-prepared meal on hot coals for 20 minutes and wait until potatoes have softened.

PESTO CATFISH PACKETS

1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
8 (6-ounce) catfish fillets
1/2 cup jarred pesto
11/2 teaspoons salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1 pint cherry tomatoes, cut into halves
Lime slices

Cut eight pieces of 8 x 11-inch aluminum foil. Drizzle each foil with olive oil. Place the fish on top of the oil. Spread pesto over each fillet. Put salt and pepper to taste. Top the catfish fillet and pesto with tomatoes and lime slices. Grill for ten minutes until fish are opaque.
