Chilli Garlic Prawns Recipe | Seafood Starter Recipe By Tarika

This tasty chili garlic prawns is a good recipe for appetizers or snacks. With the combination of seasonings cooked with the prawns, you will surely enjoy this dish with a glass of wine. It only takes about 25 minutes. Serves 2.

Ingredients:

Prawns and Batter:
• 300 grams prawns (deveined)
• 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
• 2 tbsp cornflour
• 1 egg
• 1 tsp garlic paste
• 1 tsp ginger paste
• 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
• 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
• oil for frying

For Slurry:
• 1 tbsp water
• 1 tbsp cornflour

For Sauce:
• 2-3 tbsp oil
• 3 green chilies (slit)
• 2 tbsp garlic (minced)
• 2 spring onions (sliced, white parts only)
• 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
• 1 capsicum (chopped)
• 1/2 tbsp ginger (minced)
• 1/2 tbsp chili sauce
• 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
• 1/4 cup water
• 1/4 tsp vinegar
• Salt to taste

Instructions:

Prawns and Batter:
In a large mixing bowl, add 2 tbsp cornflour, 2 tbsp all-purpose flour, 1 tsp garlic paste, 1 tsp ginger paste, 1 tbsp dark soy sauce, 1/4 tsp black pepper powder, and 1 egg.
Whisk ingredients until texture is smooth.
Add prawns into the batter.
Mix until prawns are well coated.

Set a frying pan over medium heat.
Add oil and heat it.
Fry the prawns until golden brown.
Transfer on a plate with a paper towel to drain excess oils.
Set aside.

For Slurry:
Mix 1 tbsp cornflour and 1 tbsp water.
Set aside.

For Sauce:
Set a frying pan over medium heat.
Add 2-3 tbsp oil and heat it.
Saute 2 tbsp minced garlic and 1/2 tbsp minced ginger.
Add sliced white parts of spring onions and stir.
Add green chilies and capsicum.
Stir fry.
Season with 1/2 tsp black pepper powder and mix well.
Add 2 tbsp dark soy sauce, 1/2 tbsp chili sauce, and 1/4 cup water.
Mix well.
Add the slurry and continue to stir.
Add the prawns.
Mix until prawns are well coated.
Add salt to taste.
Mix well.
Switch off heat.
Add 1/4 tsp vinegar and mix one more time.
Transfer to a plate.
Serve and enjoy!
