Churros & Hot Chocolate Recipe [No Oven]

What a perfect way to spend the weekend; preparing a yummy treat of churros and hot chocolate! This homemade dish is easy to cook, no oven is required. Make a soft and smooth dough for the churros and deep fry until golden brown. Serve with a flavorful hot chocolate.

Ingredients:

Churros:

• 150 ml water
• 20 grams sugar
• 40 grams unsalted butter (softened)
• 110 grams all-purpose flour
• 2 eggs
• cooking oil (for deep frying)

Hot Chocolate:

• 50 grams dark chocolate chips
• 25 grams sugar
• 120 ml milk
• 4 grams cornstarch + 10 ml water

Instructions:

Churros:

Prepare a saucepot.
Pour 150 ml of water into the pot.
Add 20 grams of sugar and 40 grams of unsalted butter.
Set it over medium heat.
Let it cook until butter melts.
Add 110 grams of all-purpose flour.
Stir and cook the mixture over low heat.
Keep stirring until well combined and turns into a soft dough.
Once done, transfer to a mixing bowl.
Let it cool for 10 minutes.
Crack open an egg into the dough.
Fold until well combined.
Add another egg and fold until well combined.
Transfer the mixture into a piping bag.
Pipe out dough by about 3-4 inches long to make churros.

Set a deep pan over medium-high heat.
Add cooking oil for deep frying and warm it up.
Add the churros dough into the pan and fry until golden brown.
Once done, remove from the pan and put on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
Set aside.

Hot Chocolate:

Prepare a small saucepot.
Add 50 grams of dark chocolate chips and 25 grams of sugar into the pot.
Pour 120 ml of milk.
Set the pot over low heat.
Whisk until chocolate melts.
Add a mixture of 4 grams cornstarch and 10 ml water into the pot.
Continue to whisk the mixture until slightly thick.
Remove from the heat and transfer to a cup.

Serve with the churros.
