Fabulous Frozen Fruit Smoothie

It is always best and cheaper to prepare your own fruit smoothies at home. It is really quick and you can throw in other ingredients you want to fit your taste or your diet. Drinking fruit smoothies is considered one of the best ways to make sure you meet the daily recommended serving of fruit. As the fruits are in a smoothie form, the nutrients are also easily absorbed by the body. Smoothies are also the best way to make sure your kids eat their fruit.

This fabulous frozen fruit smoothie can be either served as-is or frozen in an icicle mold to make it more fun for the kids.

Ingredients:

• 1 banana
• 2 cups of mixed frozen berries
• 1/2 cup of oats
• 1/2 cup of mixed nuts
• 2 tbsp natural yogurt
• 1 cup of skimmed milk

Instructions:

This recipe takes about 5 minutes to make. Serves 2.

Put all the ingredients in a blender.
Blend until smooth.
Pour into glasses and serve.

Ideas And Tips:

• You can also use nut milk or soy milk instead of skimmed milk.

• If you are having the smoothie for breakfast, add another portion of oats to keep you going the entire day.

• You can add honey if you want your smoothie sweeter.
