Ingredients:

• 3/4 lb penne or fettuccine pasta
• 1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined)
• 1 tbsp oil
• 1 small onion (finely chopped)
• 1 garlic clove (minced)
• 2 tbsp butter
• 1/3 cup white wine
• 2 cups heavy whipping cream
• 1/3 cup parmesan cheese (shredded)
• Salt and pepper to taste
• A pinch of paprika
• Parsley or basil (chopped, optional for garnishing)

Instructions:

This recipe takes about 30 minutes. Makes 6 servings.

Cook penne or fettuccine pasta according to package instructions.
Drain and rinse.
Set aside.

Season 1 lb of shrimp with paprika, salt, and pepper.
Mix until shrimps are well coated.
Set a large pan over medium-high heat.
Add 1 tbsp oil and warm it up.
Fry the seasoned shrimps for 2 minutes on each side or until cooked through.
Remove the shrimps from the pan and transfer to a plate.
Set aside.

In the same pan, add 2 tbsp butter and finely chopped onion.
Saute for 3-5 minutes or until onion softens.
Add minced garlic and saute until fragrant.
Add 1/3 cup of white wine.
Stir and cook until most of the liquid has evaporated.
Add 2 cups heavy whipping cream.
Stir and let it simmer for 2 minutes.
Add 1/3 cup shredded parmesan cheese.
Stir until cheese melts.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Add the cooked pasta and shrimps.
Stir until well combined.
Remove from the heat and transfer to a plate.
Serve and enjoy!

Tips and ideas:

Garnish with parsley or basil if you desire when served.

If white wine is not available, then you can substitute it with the juice of 1/2 of a medium lemon.

Don’t worry about leftovers, because you can reheat the pasta over low heat.
