How To Make Kale Chips

Store-bought chips are often salty and oily. This recipe gives you an easy but healthy way to satisfy your cravings for something crispy.

There are only 3 ingredients to make kale chips, so these chips are affordable and simple. Kale is rich in vitamins. These chips are great as snacks on movie night or an afternoon with friends.


• Kale
• Extra virgin olive oil
• Sea salt


This recipe takes 15 minutes to make. Serves 2.

Wash kale and remove the stems.
Pat dry the kale leaves using paper towels.
Place parchment paper on a baking sheet.
Preheat the oven to 350F.
Line up kale leaves on the parchment paper.
Season kale with extra-virgin olive oil and sea salt.
Bake in the oven for 10 minutes.

• Kale is also referred to as leaf cabbage. It is a close relative of a headed cabbage. Unlike wild cabbages, kale leaves do not form a head. Its leaves are often green or purple in color. Kale is a common vegetable in Europe. In was introduced to the Americas by Russian traders in the 19th century. Kale is rich in vitamin K, A.C, folate, and magnesium. It also has a high content of iron, calcium, potassium, and phosphorous.

• Make sure to check the kale leaves while baking. If the kale is overcooked, it will taste bitter.

• Kale stems can be used to make juice or soups.
