Stovetop Salmon Cakes

Dinner ideas? Try this quick and easy, delicious stovetop salmon cakes. You only need a few ingredients that are easy to find and you will have a very appetizing dinner. You can prepare mac and cheese or boiled broccoli as a side dish.

Ingredients:

Salmon patties:
• 1 can pink salmon (you can use red salmon if you prefer)
• 1 large egg
• 1/4 cup red pepper (diced)
• 1/4 cup onion (diced)
• Garlic powder to taste
• Black pepper to taste
• Creole pepper to taste
• Olive oil (or any oil for frying)

Sauce (optional):
• Creole mustard (or any kind of mustard)
• Plain Greek-style yogurt
• Dillweed (finely chopped)
• Lemon juice

Instructions:

This recipe takes about 35 minutes. Serves 2.

Salmon patties:
In a container or mixing bowl, shred the salmon and remove the bones.
Crack open one large egg.
Add 1/4 cup diced onion and 1/4 cup diced red pepper.
Season with garlic powder, black pepper, and creole pepper.
Mix until well combined.
Form into cakes or patties.

Set a frying pan over medium heat.
Add olive oil (or any oil) and heat it.
Place the patties into the frying pan.
Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
Remove from heat and transfer to a plate with paper towel to drain excess oil.
Set aside.

Sauce:
In a sauce bowl, add Creole mustard (or any mustard), plain Greek-style yogurt, dill weed, and lemon juice.
Mix well.

Serve the salmon patties or cakes on the plate.
Drizzle sauce on top.
