Red beans and rice is a flavorful crockpot recipe filled with a mixture of red beans, Andouille sausage, bell pepper, white onion, celery and seasonings. You can add creole seasoning and more spices if you want more flavor to this recipe. It is a perfect dinner dish for friends and family over the weekend.


• 1/2 lb cajun smoked Andouille sausage (chopped)
• 1 lb red kidney beans
• 4 cups chicken broth
• 2 cups water
• 2 cloves garlic (minced)
• 1 medium white onion (diced)
• 1 green bell pepper (diced)
• 3 celery stalks (chopped)
• 1/2 tsp kosher salt
• 1/4 tsp chili powder
• 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
• some chopped green onions (to garnish)


Prepare a crockpot.
Add red kidney beans, diced bell pepper, minced garlic, diced white onion, chopped sausages and chopped celery.
Pour chicken broth and water.
Season with Worcestershire sauce, kosher salt and chili powder.
Stir to combine.
Cover the pot and cook on high for six hours.
After six hours, transfer to a plate or bowl.
Serve with rice and sprinkle some chopped green onions for garnishing.

Veggie Fried Rice | Quick + Easy Pantry Recipe

Veggie fried rice is a quick and easy rice meal that you can prepare for lunch or dinner. You can simply use day-old rice, some frozen or fresh vegetables and eggs. This recipe is adjustable according to your preference and the available ingredients. You can add more veggies for a more colorful and tasty fried rice. It only takes about 10 minutes to prepare and cook this recipe.


• 1 tbsp vegetable oil
• 1 yellow onion (finely diced)
• 1 clove garlic (minced)
• 1.5 cups frozen mixed vegetables
• 1 cup shelled edamame
• 2 beaten eggs
• 3 cups leftover or cooked rice
• 2 tbsp soy sauce


Set a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add 1 tbsp of vegetable oil and heat it.
Saute diced yellow onion until soft.
Add minced garlic.
Stir and cook for 30 seconds.
Add frozen mixed vegetables and edamame.
Stir and mix until vegetables are tender.
Move the veggie mixture on one side of the skillet.
Add beaten eggs to the space.
Scramble it, then mix with the rest of the vegetables.
Add leftover or cooked rice into the skillet.
Mix well to combine.
Drizzle soy sauce over the fried rice mixture.
Stir for 1-2 minutes or until well incorporated.
Switch off the heat.
Transfer to a plate.
Serve and enjoy.

Tips and ideas:

Add more vegetables such as broccoli, mushrooms or tomatoes in the mixture if you prefer.

Chicken Fried Rice | Take Out Style Fried Rice Recipe

Make that leftover rice delicious and flavorful by preparing this easy chicken fried rice. Stir-fry rice with left-over vegetables or any mixed vegetables of your preference. Add chopped chicken for a variety of topping selections in the dish. This recipe takes about 30 minutes.


• 3 cups cooked or leftover white rice
• 1 chicken breast (chopped)
• chopped mixed vegetables of your choice (carrots, bell peppers, cabbage)
• 1 beaten egg
• 1/2 small onion (diced)
• 1 green onion (diced)
• 1 tsp garlic paste
• 1/3 cup chicken broth
• 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
• 1/2 tsp sugar
• garlic salt to taste
• onion powder to taste
• white pepper to taste
• 2 tsp sesame oil
• some chopped green onion (for garnishing)


In a bowl, mix 1/3 cup chicken broth, 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce, and 1/2 tsp sugar.
Set aside.

In another bowl, add chopped chicken breast.
Season with garlic salt, onion powder, and white pepper to taste.
Mix well and set aside.

Set a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add some oil and heat it.
Add diced onion, diced green onion, and chopped mixed vegetables.
Season with salt.
Stir-fry until tender.
Add chopped chicken breast into the skillet.
Stir-fry until chicken changes color.
Add 1 tsp garlic paste and stir to combine.
Add 3 cups of cooked or left-over white rice.
Mix until well combined.
Create a space in the skillet and add beaten egg.
Mix with the rest of the rice.
Pour the chicken broth sauce.
Season with white pepper and 2 tsp sesame oil.
Stir-fry to combine.
Garnish with chopped green onion.
Switch off the heat and mix while still heated.
Transfer to a plate and serve.
