How to Make Oven Grilled Tilapia

Tilapia is a versatile fish that you can prepare and cook in different ways. This recipe will show how to make oven-grilled tilapia. You will create a tasty marinade that will serve as a sauce for the oven grilled tilapia. Serve with fried or plain rice. Pair the dish with some savory sides such as roasted asparagus, french fries, and caesar salad.

Ingredients:

• 2 medium tilapia (descaled and cleaned)
• a handful of mixed bell peppers (julienned)

Marinade:

• 1 medium red bell pepper (diced)
• 1 medium red sweet pepper (diced)
• 1 small white onion (chopped)
• 1 medium scotch bonnet
• 2 garlic cloves (peeled)
• 1 small piece of ginger
• 1 Knorr fish cube
• 1 tsp mixed herbs
• 1 tsp smoked paprika
• 1/2 tsp curry powder
• 1/2 tsp sea salt
• 1/4 cup sunflower oil
• 1/4 cup coconut oil

Instructions:

Marinade:

Prepare a blender.
Add diced red bell pepper and sweet pepper.
Add chopped white onion, scotch bonnet, and two garlic cloves.
Add a small piece of ginger and Knorr fish cube.
Season with mixed herbs, smoked paprika, curry powder, and sea salt.
Add sunflower oil.
Blend until smooth and well combined.

Set a frying pan over medium heat.
Add 1/4 cup of coconut oil and heat it.
Once heated, pour the marinade into the pan.
Cover the lid and cook for 10-12 minutes.
Once done, remove from the heat.
Set aside and let it cool.

Meanwhile, score two descaled and cleaned fresh tilapia as you prefer.
Place them in a baking dish.
Spread the marinade on the tilapia and coat them well.
Cover the dish with clingfilm.
Place in the fridge to marinate for at least one hour.
Set aside remaining marinade sauce.

Preheat oven to 250 C.

Lightly grease the oven rack with some butter or oil.
Remove the marinated tilapia from the fridge.
Place them on the greased oven rack.
Put inside the preheated oven.
Oven grill for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, flip the tilapia on the other side.
Brush with the remaining marinade sauce.
Oven grill for 10 minutes more.
Once done, remove from the oven and set aside.

Place the remaining marinade sauce in a frying pan.
Set it over low heat.
Add julienned mixed bell peppers.
Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes or until bell peppers are soft.

Pour it over the baked tilapia.
Serve with rice.

It is recommended to marinate the tilapia overnight to have a more flavorful result.

How To Make Oven Grilled Tilapia Fish

Tilapia is one of the widely known fishes that can be easily cooked. It can be cooked through frying, grilling, and steaming. This quick and easy oven grilled tilapia fish is one of the delicious recipes you can prepare for dinner.

Ingredients:

• 2 fresh tilapia fresh (descaled and cleaned)
• 2 garlic cloves
• 1 medium red bell pepper (diced)
• 1 medium sweet pepper (diced)
• 1 scotch bonnet
• 1 small-sized onion (diced)
• 1 Knorr fish stock cube
• thumb-sized ginger
• 1 tsp smoked paprika
• 1 tsp mixed herbs
• 1/2 tsp sea salt
• 1/2 tsp curry powder
• 1/4 cup coconut oil (for frying)
• 1/4 cup sunflower oil (frying the marinade)
• Mixed bell peppers (julienned for garnishing)

Instructions:

This recipe takes about 30-35 minutes. Serves 2-3.

For the marinade:
Prepare a blender.
Add red bell pepper, sweet pepper, onion, scotch bonnet, 2 garlic cloves, ginger, and Knorr fish stock cube.
Add 1 tsp mixed herbs, 1 tsp smoked paprika, 1/2 tsp curry powder, 1/2 tsp sea salt, and 1/4 cup sunflower oil.
Blend the ingredients until the texture is smooth.

Set pan over medium-high heat.
Add 1/4 cup coconut oil and let it heat.
Pour the blended mixture.
Cover and let it cook for 10-12 minutes.
Set aside and let it cool.

Score the tilapia fish on both sides as preferred.
Put it on a baking dish for the marinating process.
Coat the fish with the marinade.
Don’t forget to also put coat the belly with the marinade.
Cover with cling film.
Refrigerate and let it marinate for 1 hour, preferably overnight.

For oven-grilling tilapia:
Lightly grease the oven rack.
Preheat oven to 250 C.
Set the marinated tilapia fish on the rack.
Coat the fish with some more of the remaining marinade.
Place inside the oven.
Let it grill for 10 minutes.
Remove it and flip it on the other side.
Coat the fish with the marinade.
Continue to grill for 10 minutes or until fish is cooked through.
Remove from the oven and set aside.

For the mixed bell pepper sauce:
Place the remaining marinade on low heat.
Add the mixed bell peppers.
Let it cook for 2-3 minutes.
Set aside.

Assembly:
Place the oven-grilled tilapia fish on a plate.
Pour the mixed bell pepper sauce on the fish.
Serve and enjoy!

Ceviche is mainly a seafood dish that originated from Peru. It can be served as a main dish or as an appetizer. Typically, it is a mixture of raw fish “cooked” in lemon or lime juice. It’s a refreshing food especially during summer that is prepared in a very quick and easy manner.

Ingredients:

• 3-4 tilapia fillets (finely diced)
• 6-8 large limes
• 1 avocado (thinly sliced)
• 1/2 cup onion (finely chopped)
• 1/4 cup cilantro leaves (chopped)
• Salt
• Pepper

Instructions:

Place the finely diced Tilapia fillets on a bowl.
Squeeze 6-8 limes for the juice.
Soak the fish with the lime juice.
Cover with transparent plastic wrap.
Place in the fridge for 10-15 minutes or until the fish is mostly white.

After 10-15 minutes, remove the soaked fish from the fridge.
Tightly squeeze the diced fish fillets to get the lime juice out.
Transfer to a mixing bowl.
Add all other ingredients.
Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste.
Mix well.
Transfer to a plate.
Serve.

Tips and ideas:

You can also transfer it into a glass for a beautiful presentation and put a lime wedge over it.
