Buffalo chicken wings are succulent crispy fried chicken wings coated with a spicy tangy sauce. These wings are traditionally served with carrot and celery sticks and a blue cheese dipping sauce. The dish got its name from its origin, Buffalo, New York. In March 4, 1964, Anchor Bar owner, Teressa Bellissimo was asked by his son, Dominic to prepare a late night snack for his friends. She served them this chicken wing dish, which instantly became a hit. From that night, people would flock to the bar to for this new taste sensation and the dish became a regular part of the bar’s menu. Word spread quickly across the globe and Buffalo wing joints sprouted everywhere since then. Many have tried yet, failed to duplicate the original vinegar-based spicy sauce recipe. Today, Buffalo wing joints offer different flavor combinations for chicken wing lovers to choose from and enjoy.
