Ingredients:
For Filling:
• 1 cup boneless chicken (minced)
• 1/2 cup onion (chopped)
• 1/2 cup white sauce
• 1/2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
• 3 green chilis (chopped)
• Grated carrot
• Chopped spring onion
• Salt to taste
• 1 tbsp oil
• Dried coriander
For Dough:
• 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 1/2 cups water
• 1 tbsp butter
• 1.2 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon sugar
For Deep Sauce:
• 2 medium eggs (beaten)
• 1 cup bread crumbs
• 1 1/2 tbsp milk
• 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper
• Oil for deep fry
Instructions:
For Filling:
Set a pan over medium heat.
Put oil and let it heat.
Saute green chili and onion until onions are translucent.
Add ginger-garlic paste.
Stir for a minute.
Add chopped chicken and mix well.
Let it cook for 5-6 minutes or until chicken is half cooked.
Season with salt.
Add grated carrots and chopped spring onions.
Mix well.
Let it cook for a few minutes until chicken is entirely cooked.
Add white sauce and mix until well combined.
Remove from heat.
Set aside.
For Dough:
Set a pot over medium heat.
Add water, salt, sugar, and butter.
Let it simmer until butter is melted.
Add all-purpose flour.
Mix until well combined.
Cover and switch off heat.
Transfer mixture to a bowl.
Knead well until texture is closer to that of a dough.
Form it into a ball and cover.
Place on a flat board or surface.
Roll out dough and cut into small round shapes.
Assembly:
Fill the small round shaped doughs with the filling in the middle.
Form it like a half-moon shape.
Dip into the egg mixture.
Coat with bread crumbs.
Set a pan over medium-high heat.
Put oil for deep frying and let it heat.
Add the half-moon pies in the pan.
Let it fry until it turns golden.
Transfer to a plate.
Serve and enjoy!
