Making Arby’s Curly Fries At Home
This homemade version of Arby’s curly fries is a delicious go-to snack for you and your friends. Add some smoked paprika, ancho powder and cayenne powder to the batter for added flavor to the curly fries. Serve it with your favorite dips and prepare some soda to complete your afternoon snacks.
Ingredients:
Curly Potoato Fries:
• 3 medium Russet potatoes (unpeeled)
• 2 1/4 cups water
• 2 1/2 tbsp kosher salt
Batter:
• 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
• 2 tsp kosher salt
• 2 tbsp smoked paprika
• 2 tbsp ancho powder
• 1/2 tsp cayenne powder
• 1/2 tbsp garlic powder
• 1 cup water
• some cooking oil (for deep frying)
• some salt (for serving)
Instructions:
Curly Potoato Fries:
Prepare a spiralizer.
Attach the curly fry blade.
Spiralize three medium Russet potatoes.
Put them into a large bowl.
Pour 2 1/4 cups of water.
Sprinkle 2 1/2 tbsp of kosher salt.
Soak for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare the batter.
Batter:
In another bowl, add all-purpose flour.
Add seasonings – kosher salt, smoked paprika, ancho powder, cayenne powder and garlic powder.
Mix well to combine.
Gradually add one cup of water while mixing into the seasonings.
Mix until smooth and well combined.
Assembly:
If the curly potatoes are too long, you can cut them shorter.
Toss them into the batter.
Carefully mix to coat the curly potatoes.
Set a heavy bottom pot over 375 F or medium-high heat.
Add cooking oil for deep frying and let it heat.
Fry the curly potatoes in batches.
Add a small batch of curly potatoes into the pot.
Fry for 4-5 minutes or until crispy and golden.
Once done, transfer into a steel rack over a parchment or paper towel to drain excess oil.
Let it cool for a while.
Sprinkle some salt for serving.
