Sausage bread rolls are soft and tasty bread rolls with sausage. They can be served for dinner, or as snacks which can also be enjoyed by kids. Garnish with parsley or cheese on top to add extra flavour.
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp instant dry yeast
• 1 tbsp sugar
• 1 large egg
• 3 tbsp melted butter
• 1/2 cup warm milk
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 12 mini sausages/wiener
• egg wash and parsley (for garnishing)
In a mixing bowl, add 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tsp instant dry yeast, 1 tbsp sugar, 1 large egg, 3 tbsp melted butter, 1/2 cup warm milk, and 1/2 tsp salt.
Mix until dough becomes smooth and sticky.
Cover bowl with clingfilm and leave for 90 minutes at room temperature.
Transfer to a lightly floured countertop.
Knead the dough and form into a ball.
Cut into 12 pieces and form into small balls.
Roll each into a rope.
Wrap each rope dough to a sausage.
Place to a parchment-lined baking sheet and cover with a clean dishcloth for 30 minutes.
Once done, brush each with egg wash on top and garnish with parsley.
Bake for 25 minutes in a preheated oven at 180 C.
Remove from oven and transfer to a plate.
Serve and enjoy!
