Spicy Chinese Chilli Potato Wedges Recipe

Chili potato is a quick and easy recipe to make. This delicious and tasty potato wedges can be served as a side dish or appetizer. The potato’s sweetness and the spicy flavor of the red chilies are a perfect combination to start your dinner. This recipe takes about 30 minutes.

Ingredients:

• 200 grams potato wedges
• 1/2 cup maida
• Salt to taste
• 2 tsp oil
• 2 red chilies
• 1 tsp garlic (chopped)
• 1 tbsp onion (chopped)
• 1 tbsp Chinese chili paste
• 1 tsp aromatic powder
• 1 tsp white pepper powder
• 1 tsp dark soya sauce
• 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
• Water
• Oil (for deep frying potato wedges)
• 1/2 tsp star anise powder
• 1 tsp lemon juice
• 1 tbsp spring onion (chopped)

Instructions:

Set pot over medium heat.
Put water in the pot.
Add potato wedges and bring to a boil.
Let it cook until potatoes are cooked.
Transfer potatoes to a bowl.
Add 1/2 cup maida and salt to taste.
Add 2 tbsp water.
Coat the potato wedges very well.

Set a skillet over medium heat.
Add oil for deep-frying and let it heat.
Fry the coated potato wedges.
Let it fry for a few minutes or until its light golden brown.
Transfer to a plate and set aside.

Set a skillet over medium heat.
Add 2 tsp of oil.
Saute 2 red chilies, 1 tsp garlic, and 1 tbsp onion.
Add 1 tbsp Chinese chili paste and saute for a few seconds.
Add 1 tsp aromatic powder, 1 tsp white pepper powder, salt to taste, 1 tsp dark soya sauce, and 1 tbsp tomato ketchup.
Saute and mix well.
Add 1/4 cup of water.
Cook and let it simmer for a few minutes.
Add 1/2 tsp star anise powder and mix well.
Add fried potato wedges from earlier.
Stir well.
Add 1 tsp lemon juice and mix again.
Sprinkle with 1 tbsp spring onion.
Cook for a few minutes.
Transfer to a plate.
Serve and enjoy!
