Chicken Cheese Dinner Rolls Recipe

These delicious and easy chicken cheese dinner rolls are perfect for a Sunday family get-together. Prepare a simple and yummy chicken filling mixed with carrots, green onions and seasonings. The rolls are then made more flavorful with mozzarella cheese.




Ingredients:

Dough:

• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/2 cup warm milk
• 1 tbsp sugar
• 1 tsp dry yeast
• 1 tsp salt
• 3 tbsp unsalted butter
• 1 large egg (beaten)

Chicken Filling:

• 1 cup cooked chicken breast (shredded)
• 2 tbsp oil
• 1 white onion (chopped)
• 1 carrot (grated)
• 1 green onion (chopped)
• salt and pepper to taste
• chili flakes to taste
• chopped parsley to taste
• turmeric powder to taste
• 1 tsp plain flour
• 1 cup milk

Other Ingredients:

• some shredded mozzarella cheese
• egg wash
• some sesame seeds (optional for garnishing)
• some chopped parsley (optional for garnishing)




Instructions:

Dough:

Prepare a mixing bowl.
Add all-purpose flour, dry yeast, and sugar.
Pour milk.
Add unsalted butter and a beaten egg.
Season with salt.
Mix well until the mixture is smooth.
Cover the bowl with a clingfilm.
Set it aside and leave for 90 minutes.

Chicken Filling:

Meanwhile, cook the chicken filling.
Set a frying pan over medium-high heat.
Add oil and heat it.
Saute chopped white onion until soft.
Add grated carrots and chopped green onions.
Stir and cook until carrots are tender.
Add the seasonings – salt, pepper, chili flakes, and turmeric powder.
Sprinkle chopped parsley to taste.
Stir to combine.
Add shredded cooked chicken breast into the pan.
Stir to combine.
Add plain flour, then stir to combine.
Pour milk, then stir.
Bring to a boil.
Let it simmer until milk reduces.
Stir for a minute.
Remove from the heat.
Set aside.

Once dough is ready, get it from the bowl and knead until smooth.
Divide the dough into ten equal portions.
Form each into a ball.
Sprinkle some flour on a ball of dough and flatten it into an oval.
Get a spoonful from the chicken filling and put it on the edge of the dough.
Sprinkle some shredded mozzarella cheese.
Wrap and roll it up like an egg roll.
Do the same with the rest of the dough and chicken filling.
Place the rolls into a parchment-lined baking tray.
Cover it with clear plastic and leave it for 30 minutes to increase in size.
Once size increases, uncover and brush each with egg wash.
Sprinkle some sesame seeds or chopped parsley on top.
Place it inside the oven.
Let it bake for 25-30 minutes at 180 C.
Once done, remove it from the oven.
Serve and enjoy!
