Flax seeds are a nutritious food that is rich in amino acids – important for heart health. Use a flaxseed-based dough to prepare these vegan flaxseed wraps. Spread a tasty dressing and fill with your favorite fruits and veggies for a healthy wrap. This recipe is quick and easy to prepare and makes four flaxseed tortillas.
• 3/4 cup golden flaxseeds
• 2/3 cup hot water
• a pinch of salt
In a blender, add 3/4 cup of golden flaxseeds.
Blend until mixture turns into flour.
Once done, transfer to a bowl.
Set a saucepot over medium-high heat.
Add hot water into the pot.
Bring to a boil.
Add a pinch of salt.
Add the flaxseed flour.
Stir and cook until it turns into a dough.
Remove from the heat and let it cool.
Divide the dough into four portions.
Roll out the dough into a tortilla, about 1/16 inch thick.
You can place a mixing bowl on top of the tortilla, then cut around the edges to shape a perfect circle.
Do this with the three remaining dough portions.
Set a large non-stick frying pan over low heat and let it warm up.
Add one flaxseed tortilla at a time into the pan.
Toast it for 40-50 seconds on each side.
Once done, add your favorite fillings.
Roll and slice in half.
Serve and enjoy!
