Grilled Tofu Sandwich Recipe By Manjula

This vegetarian grilled sandwich recipe uses tofu which is lightly seasoned with salt and made flavorful by the hari cilantro chutney. This is perfect for snacks or can be sliced into smaller portions and alongside other dishes.

Tofu or bean curd is made from coagulating and pressing soy milk to form curds in soft white blocks. Tofu varieties in the market can be soft, firm or extra firm. Ideas And Tips:

• You may also use grilled yellow squash, onions or mushrooms.

• Bottled hari cilantro chutney can be purchased in your local grocery store but you can also make it at home. It is as simple as making your favorite pesto. Using a food processor, blend a bunch of cilantro leaves, 3 green chilies, 3 tbsp lemon juice, a thumb of ginger, 1 tsp salt, 1tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp oil, and 1 tsp sugar until the mixture becomes a smooth paste.

• If you find the sauce too spicy, you may also use mustard, ketchup or mayonnaise.
