Who doesn’t love fried chicken? From kids to adults, this dish is simply one of the easiest to cook, thus becoming one of the favorites during breakfast, lunch, and dinner! This dish originated in the U.S.A. consisting of any chicken piece coated in a flavorful marinade and cooked thru pressure frying, deep-frying, or pan-frying. The secret to a delicious fried chicken is its seasoned batter or marinade.
Ingredients:
For the marinade:
• 1200 grams boneless chicken thighs
• 1 1/2 cups milk
• 1 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
• 3 eggs
• 3 tsp red chili powder
• 3 tsp salt
• 2 tsp dried rosemary
• 1 tsp cardamom powder
• 1 tbsp garlic (finely chopped)
• 1 tbsp ginger (finely chopped)
For the flour mixture:
• 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 cup cornstarch
• 2 tsp red chili powder
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 2 tsp coriander powder
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp fennel seeds
• 2 tsp salt
• a dash of black pepper
• Oil for deep frying
Instructions:
For marinade:
In a large bowl, put 1 1/2 cups milk and 1 1/2 tbsp lemon juice.
Mix well.
Let it sit for 5 minutes.
Add seasonings – 2 tsp dried rosemary, 3 tsp red chili powder, 3 tsp salt, 1 tsp cardamom powder, 1 tbsp garlic, and 1 tbsp ginger.
Crack 3 eggs in the bowl.
Whisk the ingredients until well combined.
Add boneless chicken thighs.
Dip and coat well.
Cover with plastic and refrigerate for 4 hours.
After 4 hours, remove from the fridge and let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before frying.
For flour mixture:
In a plate, put 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour and 1 cup cornstarch.
Add seasonings – 2 tsp red chili powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp fennel seeds, 2 tsp coriander powder, 2 tsp baking powder, 2 tsp salt, and a dash of black pepper.
Mix ingredients until well combined.
Frying:
Set a large frying pan over medium heat.
Put oil for deep frying and let it heat.
Get a piece of marinated boneless chicken thigh and coat well with the flour mixture.
Repeat the coating for all pieces.
Fry 3-4 pieces of chicken thighs at a time.
Let it fry for 12-15 minutes or until color becomes nicely brown.
Transfer to a plate.
Serve and enjoy!
