Prepare this easy homemade Supermarket bread and never worry about loaf bread stocks running out in the grocery. You can use this homemade loaf bread in any typical sandwich or toast combo such as BLT or grilled cheese on toast.
Ingredients:
• 3/4 cup water
• 1/2 cup whole milk
• 1 tbsp active dry yeast
• 3 cups bread flour
• 1 1/2 tsp fine sea salt
• 1 tbsp granulated sugar
• 3 tbsp unsalted butter (softened)
Instructions:
Mix 3/4 cup of water and 1/2 cup of whole milk in a cup.
Heat it until the temperature reaches 90 F.
Add 1 tbsp of active dry yeast.
Stir to combine.
Cover with a plastic wrap.
Set it aside for 10 minutes.
Prepare a large mixing bowl.
Add 3 cups of bread flour, 1 1/2 tsp fine sea salt, and 1 tbsp granulated sugar.
Whisk until well combined.
Prepare the electric mixer with the spiral dough hook.
Add the flour mixture into the mixer.
Mix on low speed.
Gradually add the whole milk mixture while mixing.
Continue to mix until the mixture becomes a dough.
Add 1 tbsp at a time of unsalted butter.
Continue to mix until well combined.
Once smooth, transfer it on a work surface.
Knead and shape it into a ball.
Place into a lightly greased large mixing bowl.
Cover with lightly greased clingfilm.
Set aside for 1-1.5 hours to increase size at room temperature.
Meanwhile, lightly grease a 9 x 4-inch loaf bread pan with butter.
Set aside.
When the dough is ready, transfer it to a flour-dusted work surface.
Knead lightly and roll it out into a rectangle using a rolling pin.
Tightly form a loaf of bread that will fit in your pan.
Cover with a damp towel or an inverted loaf bread pan.
Let it rise for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
After an hour, remove the cover and place it inside the oven.
Bake it for 35-40 minutes at 350 F.
Once bread is golden brown, remove it from the oven.
Remove from the pan and let it cool completely.
Cut into equal slices.
