Vegan Bacon Double Cheeseburger Recipe

There are many vegan burgers available in the market today but it’s always best to make your own at home. Not only are they more affordable, you also get to choose only high-quality ingredients. The ingredients used for the burger patties, bacon bits, and cheese sauce are easily available in any grocery store or whole food store. If you are looking for a perfect snack to serve your vegan best friend, then this recipe is perfect for you.

Ingredients:

4 Kaiser rolls
vegan mayonnaise
tomato slices
onion slices

Bacon Bits:

• 2 tbsp liquid smoke
• 2 tbsp soy sauce
• 2 tbsp maple syrup
• 2 tbsp water
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp paprika
• 1/4 tsp black pepper
• 1 cup of unsweetened coconut flakes

Black Bean Burger Pattie:

• 2 tbsp ground flax seed soaked in 1/2 cup of water
• 1 16-oz can of black beans, drained
• 1/2 cup of cooked sweet potato
• 1/2 onion, finely chopped
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1/2 tsp black pepper
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 tsp sriracha sauce
• 1 1/2 cup of oatmeal

Cheddar Cheese Recipe:

• 1 16-oz can of cannellini beans, drained
• 1 cup of nutritional yeast flakes
• 1 cup of cooked sweet potato
• 2-3 tbsp soy sauce
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1/4 tsp black pepper
• 1/2 cup of extra virgin olive oil
• 3 tbsp tahini
• 2 tbsp agave syrup
• 1/2 cup of almond milk

Instructions:

This recipe takes about 60 minutes to make. Serves 4.

To make the “bacon bits”, whisk together liquid smoke, soy sauce, maple syrup, water, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper in a large mixing bowl.
Add coconut flakes and marinate for 5 minutes.
Spread marinated coconut flakes on a baking sheet.
Bake in the oven at 300°F for 10 minutes.

To make the burger patties, start by mashing together black beans, sweet potato, onion, flax seed mixture, garlic powder, black pepper, salt, and sriracha sauce in a large mixing bowl.
Once you have a sticky consistency, add oatmeal.
Mix well using a spatula.
Form the mixture into 8 patties.
Arrange the patties on a lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake in the oven at 375°F for 15 minutes on each side.

To make the cheese sauce, put all the ingredients in a blender.
Blend until smooth.

To assemble the bacon double cheeseburger, start by spreading vegan mayonnaise on the Kaiser roll.
On the bottom half of the roll, put some lettuce, then top with a vegan pattie.
Spread vegan cheese sauce, then lay another pattie on top.
Spread vegan cheese sauce, then sprinkle bacon bits on top.
Finish with tomato and onion slices, then cover with the top half of the Kaiser roll.

Ideas And Tips:

• Aside from cannellini beans, you can use soaked cashew nuts or sunflower seeds to make the cheese sauce.

• You can also use rice paper instead of coconut flakes for the bacon bits.

• Aside from black beans, you can use chickpeas or lentils to make the burger patties.
