How To Make The Fluffiest Mashed Potatoes

Are you a fan of mashed potatoes? You can make the fluffiest mashed potatoes at your homes with this recipe. The main secret here is using the right type of potato. To get that fluffy texture, the best way is to steam the potatoes first before mashing them. This recipe takes about 40 minutes.


• 2 lbs. Yukon Gold potatoes (peeled and cut into 2-inch slices)
• 1/2 cup milk
• 1/2 unsalted butter
• Freshly ground white or black pepper
• Coarse salt


Set a large pot over medium-high heat.
Fill with water.
Sprinkle a pinch of salt.
Place a steamer basket in the pot.
Let it bring to a boil.
Reduce heat.
Put the potatoes in the steamer basket.
Let it steam for 25-30 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.
Transfer potatoes to a ricer and mash the potatoes into a large bowl.
Set aside.

Set a small saucepan over medium heat.
Melt butter.
Pour milk and let it warm.
Add to the mashed potatoes.
Mix well using a spatula.
Season with salt and pepper.
Serve and enjoy!
