Baked chili cheese toast is an easy vegetarian recipe that does not require much time or any special ingredients. It can be made as a snack for kids, a quick breakfast, or evening meal. It is super crispy and cheesy.
Ingredients:
• 4 bread slices
• 1 deseeded & chopped jalapeño
• 1 small deseeded & chopped tomato
• 4 cloves garlic crushed
• 130 grams/1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
• 1 green chili crushed
• 1/8 tsp red chili flakes
• 1/8 tsp Italian seasoning
• salt to taste
• 2 tbsp olive oil
• ¼ tsp black pepper powder
Instructions:
Put two tbsp of olive oil in a big bowl.
Add green chili, garlic, and black pepper powder.
Spread the prepared mixture on the bread slices.
Bake on 350F/180° for four minutes.
Add tomato, jalapeño, italian seasoning, a pinch of black pepper powder, and mozzarella, then mix well.
Add the prepared mixture evenly on all the slices of toasted bread.
Sprinkle more mozzarella on top.
Add a bit of red chili flakes.
Bake on 400F/200° for 4-5 minutes or broil on high for 3 minutes.
Serve hot.
Tips and ideas:
If you are making this dish for your children (or if you do not like hot food either), you can skip the chili pepper and jalapeño.
You can add other vegetables too, such as green bell pepper (that can also be used as a substitute for the jalapeño).
