Cabbage Manchurian Recipe

Cabbage manchurian is a dish that you can prepare ad cook in 30 minutes. This is a popular side dish or appetizer that kickstarts a good weekend dinner. It consists primarily of grated cabbage combined with a flavorful sauce. It is best served when hot.

Ingredients:

• 2 cups cabbage (grated)
• 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
• 1 teaspoon red chili powder
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
• 3-4 tbsp cornflour
• 3-4 tbsp maida
• Oil (for deep frying)
• 1 tbsp garlic (chopped)
• 1 tbsp green chili
• 1 tbsp onion (sliced)
• 2 tbsp red chili sauce
• 1 teaspoon soy sauce
• 1 tbsp ketchup
• 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
• Spring onions
• 1/2 cup water
• 1 teaspoon cornflour
• Few juliennes of capsicum (optional)

Instructions:

Put the grated cabbage in a mixing bowl.
Season with garam masala, red chili powder, ginger garlic paste, and salt.
Mix the ingredients until well combined.
Add cornflour and maida.
Mix well until the mixture turns into dough enough to hold as balls.
Scoop mixture and make into balls.

Set a frying pan over medium heat.
Put oil for deep frying and let it heat.
Add the Manchurian balls.
Let it fry for 6 minutes or until it becomes light golden brown.
Transfer to a plate with paper tissue to absorb excess oil.
Set aside.

Set a pan over high heat.
Add oil and let it heat.
Saute garlic, green chili, spring onion, and capsicum.
Mix well.
Add chili sauce, soy sauce, and ketchup.
Mix for a minute.
Season with black pepper.
Let it cook for a few minutes until you see it caramelizes.
Add 1/2 cup water and mix.
Add cornflour with water mixture.
Cook in low flame and let it boil for a few seconds.
Add the Manchurian balls.
Mix until well combined.
Sprinkle with chopped spring onions.
Transfer to a small bowl.
Serve and enjoy!
