Mushroom Fried Rice Recipe

Mushroom fried rice is a very quick and easy dish you can prepare for lunch or dinner. In this recipe, we’ll be using Basmati rice, which is traditionally originated in India. Mixed with delicious mushrooms, onion, and capsicum, this is the perfect dish that you and your friends will enjoy.


• 1 cup Basmati rice
• 500 grams mushroom (sliced)
• 1 teaspoon garlic (chopped)
• 1 green chili (chopped)
• 1 large onion (finely chopped)
• 1 large capsicum
• 1 1/2 tbsp oil
• 2 teaspoon vinegar
• 2 teaspoon soy sauce
• 2 tbsp Schezwan paste
• Salt and pepper to taste
• Water (for cooking Basmati rice)
• Spring onion greens (chopped)


This recipe takes about 30 minutes. Serves 2-3.

For Basmati Rice:
Rinse 1 cup of Basmati rice with water for a couple of times.

Set a pot over medium heat.
Fill it with enough water to cook 1 cup of Basmati rice.
Let the water boil.
Add 1/2 teaspoon salt.
Add rice and let it cook until it’s 3/4th done.
Drain and set aside.

For Mushroom Mixture:
Set a wide pan over medium heat.
Add oil and let it heat.
Saute garlic, green chili, and onion for a few minutes or until onions are translucent.
Add capsicum and mushrooms.
Stir and cook for 3 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper.
Saute for a few minutes.
Add vinegar, soy sauce, and Schezwan paste.
Mix until well combined.
Add Basmati rice.
Mix all ingredients until well combined.
Sprinkle spring onion greens.
Transfer to a plate.
Serve and enjoy!

Tips and ideas:

Be careful not to break the Basmati rice when mixing it with the mushroom mixture.
