Grain-Free Flax Bread Wraps Recipe (Gluten-Free, Vegan, Paleo)
A wrap is a thin flatbread that is filled with vegetables, meat, cheese, fish or fruits and made into a roll. Popular wraps include tortillas, lavash, and pita. This recipe is a vegan version of a wrap made from ground flax seeds. Ground flax seeds are made into a dough and rolled into thin wraps. These wraps can be filled with anything you want.
Ingredients:
• 1.5 cups of ground organic golden flax seeds
• 1 tbsp of organic oil
• Half a tsp of organic cumin
• Filtered water
• Starch or flour for rolling
Instructions:
This recipe takes about 75 minutes to make. The flax seed dough needs to set for 1 hour. Serves 4 wraps.
In a saucepan, heat organic oil over medium heat.
Place cumin seeds and then remove from the heat.
Put flax seeds in a coffee grinder. Grind until the seeds turn to powder.
In a small bowl, place the ground flax seeds and then add the cumin-infused oil.
Mix together with water until flax seeds turn into a sticky dough.
Let the dough rest for at least 1 hour.
On a flat surface, sprinkle some starch, powder or flour to keep the dough from sticking.
Divide the dough into 4 equal parts.
Press down on the dough to flatten.
Use a rolling pin to make the dough as thin as possible without making any holes.
Repeat this process for all the dough.
In a large frying pan, drizzle with oil until the entire bottom is lightly coated.
Place the thin wrap on the pan. Cook until golden brown.
Repeat this process for all the wraps.
You can now fill the wraps with vegetables, cheese, or fruits.
