Red Lentil Kebab Recipe

After a long day’s work, you may want to prepare a simple and easy recipe for dinner. Here is a healthy and delicious red lentil kebab recipe that you can easily prepare. Lentils are edible legumes that originated from India. Red lentil kebab can be served as an appetizer, salad, or main course. It takes around 30 minutes to prepare and cook this recipe.

Ingredients:

• 1 cup red lentil
• 1 medium grated potato
• 1 medium grated carrot
• 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
• 1 medium grated onion
• 1-inch ginger (finely chopped)
• 4 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
• 1 cup parsley (chopped)
• 1/2 cup almond flour
• Lime juice
• 1/4 tsp baking soda
• Salt to taste
• 1 tsp cumin powder
• 1 tsp black pepper powder
• 1 tsp garam masala powder (optional)
• 1 tsp cayenne pepper
• 1 tsp cooking oil (for frying)
• Canola oil (for frying kebabs)

Instructions:

Set a frying pan over medium-high heat.
Add 1 tsp cooking oil.
Add grated vegetables – potato, carrot, cabbage, and onion.
Season with salt to taste.
Stir and cook for 4-5 minutes.
Remove from the heat and set aside.

Wash and drain one cup of red lentil.
Soak in water for 20-25 minutes.
Once done, drain again and add in the food processor.
Add ginger, garlic, parsley, and almond flour.
Season with salt, cumin powder, black pepper powder, cayenne pepper, and garam masala powder.
Add juice of one lime.
Grind until well combined and broken into pieces.
Transfer to a large mixing bowl.
Add the vegetable mixture and season with salt.
Mix until well combined.
Scoop a mixture and form into any shape.
Repeat with the remaining mixture.

Set a frying pan over medium heat.
Add canola oil and warm it up.
Fry each kebab for 4-5 minutes on each side or until browned.
Serve and enjoy!

Tips and ideas:

You can make bigger or smaller shapes of the kebab based on your preference.

Serve with a variety of dips.
