Cookies are one of the world’s most popular desserts or snacks and are loved by both kids and adults. There are countless styles and flavors, but the main ingredients are flour, sugar and egg. This is a collection of the five best classic cookie recipes you can prepare over the weekend.

1. Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup granulated sugar
• 3/4 cup brown sugar
• 1 tsp salt
• 1/2 cup butter (melted)
• 1 egg
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 1/4 cup flour
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 4 oz dark chocolate bites
• 4 oz milk chocolate bites

Instructions:

Prepare a large mixing bowl.
Add white sugar, brown sugar and salt.
Add melted butter.
Mix until well combined.
Crack open an egg.
Add vanilla extract.
Mix until well combined.
Sift in flour and baking soda.
Mix until well combined.
Add dark chocolate bites and milk chocolate bites.
Mix well.
Cover the bowl with clingfilm.
Let it chill for at least 4 hours, recommended overnight.
Once done, scoop from the mixture and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Place it inside a preheated oven of 350 F.
Bake for 12-15 minutes.
Once done, remove it from the oven and let it cool.

2. Snickerdoodle Cookies

Ingredients:




• 1 cup butter (softened)
• 2 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 1/3 cup brown sugar
• 2 eggs
• 3 cups flour
• 2 tsp cinnamon
• 2 tsp cream of tartar
• 2 tsp baking soda
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1 cup cinnamon sugar

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 375 F.

Prepare a large mixing bowl.
Add softened butter and vanilla extract.
Whisk to combine.
Add granulated sugar, then whisk to combine.
Add brown sugar, then whisk to combine.
Crack open two eggs, then whisk to combine.
Sift in flour, cinnamon, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.
Fold using a spatula to combine well.
Cover the bowl with clingfilm.
Let it chill for 30 minutes.
Once done, form into small-sized balls.
Roll them into a cup of cinnamon sugar.
Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Put inside a preheated oven.
Bake for 10 minutes.
Once done, remove it from the oven and let it cool.

3. Cookies & Cream Cheesecake Cookies

Ingredients:

• 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
• 8 tbsp salted butter (softened)
• 3/4 cup granulated sugar
• 1 cup flour
• 10 cookies (crushed)

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 F.

Prepare a mixing bowl.
Add softened cream cheese and salted butter.
Add granulated sugar.
Mix using an electric hand mixer.
Continue to mix until smooth.
Add flour, then mix until well combined.
Add crushed cookies.
Mix well.
Cover the bowl with clingfilm.
Let it chill for 30 minutes.
Once done, form into small-sized balls.
Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Flatten the balls using the back of a spoon.
Put it inside the preheated oven.
Bake for 12-15 minutes.
Once done, remove it from the oven and let it cool.

4. Frosted Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:

• 3 1/2 cups flour
• 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1 cup butter (softened)
• 3/4 cup granulated sugar
• 1 egg
• 1/2 cup sour cream
• 1 tsp vanilla extract

Frosting:

• 1/2 cup butter (softened)
• 2 cups powdered sugar
• 2 tbsp milk

Instructions:

Prepare a mixing bowl.
Add 3 1/2 cups flour, 1 1/2 tsp baking soda and 1/4 tsp salt.
Whisk to combine.
Set aside.

Prepare another mixing bowl.
Add 1 cup softened butter and 3/4 cup granulated sugar.
Mix using an electric hand mixer.
Continue to mix until well combined.
Crack open an egg, then mix to combine.
Add 1/2 cup sour cream and 1 tsp vanilla extract.
Mix well to combine.
Add the flour mixture in three portions.
Mix to combine every time the flour mixture is added.
Continue to mix until dough comes together.
Transfer the dough into a flour-dusted work surface.
Shape the dough into a disc.
Wrap it with a plastic wrapper.
Let it chill for an hour.
Once done, transfer the dough into a flour-dusted work surface.
Flatten the dough to an inch thick using a rolling pin.
Use a cookie cutter to cut out cookies.
Place the cookies on a parchment-lined baking tray.
Put it inside a preheated oven of 300 F.
Bake for 8 minutes.
Once done, remove it from the oven and let it cool.

Frosting:

Prepare another mixing bowl.
Add 1/2 cup softened butter.
Mix until creamy.
Sift in 2 cups powdered sugar, then mix to combine.
Add 2 tbsp milk.
Mix well to combine.

Spread the frosting on top of each cookie.
Add sprinkles if you want.
Enjoy!

5. Brownie Fudge Cookies

Ingredients:

• 2/3 cup brown sugar
• 2 beaten eggs
• 1/2 cup melted butter
• 1/2 cup melted chocolate
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 cup flour
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
• 1/2 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 F.

Prepare a large mixing bowl.
Add 2/3 cup brown sugar and two beaten eggs.
Whisk until well combined.
Add melted butter, melted chocolate and vanilla extract.
Whisk until well combined.
Add flour, baking powder and salt.
Mix until well combined.
Add white and dark chocolate chips.
Mix well.
Let it chill for 30 minutes.
Once done, scoop from the mixture and place on a parchment-lined baking tray.
Do this with the remaining mixture.
Put it inside the preheated oven.
Bake for 12 minutes.
Once done, remove it from the oven and let it cool.
Enjoy!
