French toast roll ups are great to prepare for a breakfast with kids. These are not just quick and easy to cook and prepare, but also a tasty breakfast recipe kids will love. The recipe only takes about 10-15 minutes, depending on how many bread roll-ups you will be preparing.
Ingredients:
• 12-15 white bread slices
• 8 oz fresh strawberries
• 4 oz cream cheese
• 2 large eggs
• 1/2 cup whole milk
• 1 tbsp sugar
• 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• A pinch of grated nutmeg
• 3 tbsp cooking oil (for griddle)
• 2 tbsp butter (for griddle)
• 1/2 tsp sugar (for strawberries)
Instructions:
Cut the crusts off white bread slices.
Flatten each bread slice using a rolling pin.
Set aside.
Dice the strawberries.
Add 1/2 tsp sugar.
Mix well and set aside.
Mix 2 eggs, 1/2 cup whole milk, a pinch of grated nutmeg, 1 tsp vanilla extract, and a pinch of ground cinnamon.
Set aside.
In a mixing bowl, mix 4 oz cream cheese, 1 tbsp sugar, and 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon.
Mix until well combined.
Spread a tablespoon of mixture on one side of a bread slice.
Place diced strawberries.
Roll it up tightly.
Do this with the remaining bread slices.
Set a frying pan over medium heat.
Add 3 tbsp cooking oil and 2 tbsp butter.
Let the butter melt.
Dip and coat each bread roll up into the egg mixture, then fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
Do this to the remaining bread roll-ups.
Remove from the pan and transfer to a plate.
Serve and enjoy!
