DIY Sweet Onion Bread Recipe (Raw+ Gluten Free)

If you are looking for a delicious, healthy, and gluten-free snack, then this DIY sweet onion bread recipe is perfect for you! You need to cook and prepare it a day before because the bread needs to be dehydrated or baked for a couple of hours. You can choose any toppings of your choice such as sliced tomatoes, red bell peppers, chilies, mashed potatoes, or avocado.


• 1 cup flax seeds
• 1 cup sunflower seeds
• 3 sweet onions (sliced)
• Sea salt
• 1/3 cup olive oil
• Mashed avocado, shredded veggies, and herbs (for toppings)
• Any seasonings (optional)


Prepare a blender.
Add flax and sunflower seeds into the blender.
Blend well to combine.
Continue to blend until crushed into fine pieces.
Transfer to a mixing bowl.
Set aside.

Clean the blender and add sliced sweet onions.
Blend well to combine.
Continue to blend until smooth.
Pour into the bowl of flax and sunflower mixture.
Mix well.
Add olive oil and some sea salt.
You can add any seasonings to add a variety of flavors.
Mix well to combine.
Pour the mixture on a dehydrator sheet.
Spread it evenly, not too thin or too thick.
Place it inside the dehydrator.
Leave it for at least 12 hours, but recommended overnight.
Top it off with mashed avocado, shredded vegetables like red bell peppers and tomatoes, herbs, and sprouts.
Serve and enjoy!

Tips and ideas:

If you don’t have a dehydrator, you can place the mixture on a baking sheet lined with parchment.
Let it bake at the lowest temperature.
Flip the bread on the other side after a few hours.
