Healthy Caramel – Delicious, Raw, Vegan

Caramel is a kind of confection primarily made with sugar. It seems to be used for “almost everything”, especially in desserts. Some of the natural sweeteners include pure maple syrup, coconut nectar, raw honey, and agave syrup. This recipe will guide us to make a delicious healthy caramel that can be mixed into your healthy recipes.

Ingredients:

• 1 cup dates
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 3 tbsp almond butter
• 3 tbsp pure maple or agave syrup
• 1/4 tsp sea salt

Instructions:

Soak 1 cup of dates in 1/2 cup of water for at least an hour.
Do not drain the water.
Put the soaked dates (including the water) in the blender.
Add 3 tbsp almond butter, 3 tbsp agave syrup, 1 tsp vanilla extract, and 1/4 tsp sea salt.
Blend until the mixture becomes puree.
Transfer to a glass container for storage.
