Easy Oatmeal Bread Recipe

Oatmeal bread can be a healthy choice of food, because oats are highly nutritious. It is high in fiber and has a number of nutrients in it including iron and zinc. Oatmeal bread is a good way to start up your day with a healthy smoothie or fruit juice on the side.


• 3 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 cup rolled oats
• 2 tbsp melted butter
• 1 1/3 cups boiling water
• 1 1/4 teaspoons instant dry yeast
• 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
• 1/4 cup maple syrup


Prepare a large mixing bowl or the bowl from electric mixer.
Put oats and boiling water.
Add butter, salt, and maple syrup.
Mix until well combined.
Let it cool for a few minutes.
Add all-purpose flour and yeast.
Stir until it becomes a dough.
Knead the dough for 7-8 minutes.
Prepare a lightly greased bowl.
Place the dough in it.
Cover with wrapper and let it rise for an hour until its size is increased.
Shape the dough into a log.
Put in a lightly greased loaf pan.
Cover the pan and let it rise for an hour.
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Brush the dough with a little amount of water.
Top it off with rolled oats.
Bake for 40-45 minutes.
Let it cool for a few minutes.
Slice and serve.

Tips and ideas:

You can serve it with a variety of spreads or jams such as strawberry jam, maple syrup, butter, or whatever suits your taste.
