How To Make 3 Easy Chia Seed Smoothie Recipes

Chia seeds are considered a superfood, one of the healthiest food on Earth. These seeds come from a flowering plant that is a member of the mint family. The term chia translates to “strength” in the Mayan language. There is evidence that these seeds were cultivated by the Aztec people. Chia seeds are loaded with fiber, protein, calcium, B vitamins, phosphorus, and magnesium. A single ounce serving of chia seeds only has 137 calories. Chia seeds are known to absorb water and expands in the stomach, which increases that full feeling. These seeds can help you lose weight. These smoothie recipes show just how versatile chia seeds are. You can mix with milk or juice and you’re on your way to a healthier diet.

These three smoothies take 3 to 4 minutes to make. Serves 1 to 2.

1. Sunshine Mango


• Half a cup of frozen mango chunks
• 1/4 cup of frozen pineapple chunks
• 2 tbsp of chia seeds
• Half a cup of orange juice
• Sliced strawberries


Place the orange juice, mango chunks, pineapple chunks, and chia seeds in a blender.
Blend until smooth.
Sprinkle chia seeds and blend until well mixed.
Place strawberry slices on the side of the glass or mason jar.
Carefully pour the smoothie.

2. The Pink Princess


• Half a cup of strawberries
• 1/4 cup of frozen raspberries
• Half a cup of almond milk
• 2 tbsp of chia seeds
• 1/4 cup of ice
• Sliced bananas


Place ice, almond milk, strawberries, and raspberries in a blender.
Blend until smooth.
Add the chia seeds to the smoothie and pulse until well mixed.
Place sliced bananas on the side of the glass or mason jar.
Pour the smoothie into the glass.

3. Purple Berrythin


• Half a cup of frozen blueberries
• 1 frozen banana
• 2 tbsp of chia seeds
• Half a cup of coconut water
• 1/4 cup of ice
• Sliced strawberries


Place ice, coconut water, blueberries and banana in a blender.
Blend all of the ingredients together until smooth.
Place sliced strawberries on the side of the glass or mason jar.
Pour or scoop smoothie into the glass or jar.
Sprinkle chia seeds on top.

Ideas And Tips:

• Chill your glasses or mason jars so that the fruit slices stick better on the sides.

• If the smoothie is too thick, add more liquid like almond milk or coconut water.
